MICHIYAYA Spring Dance Intensive + Audition

3 Full Days of Class, Creative Process, and Discussion

With Anya & Mitsuko Clarke-Verdery, Artistic Directors of MICHIYAYA Dance and guest artists.

There will be an optional post-intensive audition. Participants auditioning will be considered for the roster of MICHIYAYA Dance Artists. Opportunities include paid residencies, rehearsals, and potential performance opportunities for 2024-2025.


Classes: Morning Contemporary classes will be led by either Anya Clarke-Verdery or guest artist Donovan Reed, company member of A.I.M by Kyle Abraham.

Creative Process: Through contemporary dance and performance art, participants will work collaboratively with Anya and Mitsuko. Together they’ll generate movement, build phrase work, improvise, play, and experiment.

Repertory: Learn excerpts from one of MICHIYAYA’s unique works.

Discussion: Open discussions on sustaining your artistry, forming a collective, and more.
