Open Call for Proposals: Solo Flight at TOPAZ ARTS

TOPAZ ARTS and the Queens Museum of Art announce an open call for Dance in Queens: Solo Flight –
a dance residency and performance series featuring solo work.  Presented as an off-site event during the Queens Museum of Art's expansion, Dance in Queens 2010 will take place at the TOPAZ ARTS Space in Woodside, Queens. This year, the 8th annual contemporary dance residency program focuses on the solo form, offering choreographers concentrated time and a private space to develop new work.

Three soloists will be selected to receive free rehearsal space and a public presentation of their work at TOPAZ ARTS Space. Choreographers will each be awarded with up to six weeks access to rehearsal space at the TOPAZ ARTS studio during July to mid-September 2010, concluding in a shared public performance. Each choreographer will present solo work during an informal showing on Sunday, September 12, 2010.

Choreographers from all five boroughs of New York City may apply. Also open to artists outside of NYC, please note: no stipend, nor travel or housing provided.
