Alexandra Beller/Dances Audition

TUESDAY, SEPTEMBER 7   12-5 PM

Alexandra Beller/dances, an experimental Dance Theater Company is looking for one MALE or FEMALE performer to continue the creative process for a new evening length work, “other stories.”

There will be a 10-month creative period (1-2 rehearsals per week) with possible small performances midway culminating in a premiere in Boston at ICA (Institute for Contemporary Arts) in June 2011. Possible (unconfirmed) touring in 2011 includes Czech Republic, Brazil, Italy, Minneapolis, Michigan, and Iowa. Paid performances and tours and, currently, unpaid rehearsals.

Important skills include intelligent, specific, dynamic movement quality, ability to improvise (solo and group), ability to create unique and personal movement vocabulary, ability to work deeply in a theatrical vocabulary (create, manipulate and perform text, create character, objective, narrative, etc). Acting experience a major plus!

Age, height, body type, race, gender all unimportant. Maturity in group dynamics, curiosity in a creative process and ability to commit to the project for ONE YEAR a must.
