CatScratch Theatre is accepting submissions for FLIC Fest. Deadline for submissions is September 1, 2010.
CatScratch Theatre is accepting submissions for FLIC Fest, a new festival of Feature Length Independent Choreography, co-produced by CST and The Irondale Center Center in Ft. Greene Brooklyn, January 20-28, 2011. Deadline for submissions is September 1, 2010.
Each evening of FLIC Fest will include two feature-length dance theatre works followed by an informal performance cabaret in the balcony lounge. In this inaugural year, we will present 12 choreographers, each with one performance slot.
We are working to uncover the most interesting and innovative evening-length work that New York has to offer. Work should be 50-60 minutes in length; new and existing work is welcome. Basic lighting design is included in the tech, but if you have an existing design we will use it as the space allows.
I hope that you will consider submitting your work to the inaugural FLIC Fest. To do so, please send a bio or resume and a short statement about why you would like to be a part of FLIC to jeramy@catscratchtheatre.org. If you have them, include links where we can see your work online. As part of the selection process, we may ask to see a longer work sample.
FLIC aims to bring great performance to a new audience as well as create a strong sense of community and a forum for the exchange of ideas among independent choreographers. We look forward to hearing from you.
