Seeking dancers with acting experience or actors with movement training for “18 Paintings,” a dance / theater piece conceived and directed by Dylan Stephen Levers. The piece will premiere in May at HERE Arts Center's Spring Artist Lodge. The piece features 18 “painterly vignettes” that call into question the nature of looking at visual art versus viewing a performance. Performers should be interested in the nexus between the visual arts and performance worlds and open to collaboration and experimentation in a rehearsal environment. **Special interest in performers with strong muscle control. From the submissions, a casting session will occur the evenings of March 8 and 9th. Rehearsals will be held 2 – 3 weeknights depending on performers’ availability and a chunk of time on Saturdays. A workshop of the piece will take place the first weekend of April prior to a run the first week of May at HERE Arts Center as part of their Spring Artists Lodge. Exact dates of performance TBD, but performers must be available that week.
