Choreography and Performance Opportunity

 

Dear Fellow Dancer/Choreographer,

 

I am pleased to announce the third annual Norristown DanceFest being held at The Montgomery County Cultural Center in Norristown, PA on August 20, 2011 at 8pm and August 21, 2011 at 2pm in effort to promote the arts in the Norristown community.

 

Applications are being accepted for all genres of dance. 

If chosen to present, companies and/or choreographers will be given a small stipend to perform; be provided with free theatre space including a tech/dress on August 20; be provided with a free technical director and sound technician; have advertising costs covered; be provided with free video of the performance and will be sent flyers to distribute one month prior to the show.

 

About the theatre:

The theatre is located at 208 DeKalb Street in Norristown, PA on the 4th floor.  It is a black box theatre approximately 24 feet wide and 32 feet deep and seats 75. Dancers will be provided with a Marley floor to dance upon.  The theatre is equipped with large dressing rooms and a crossover for performance.  

 

Application Requirements:

Please fill out the attached application and return with a $10.00 application feemade out to Chisena Danza by May 31, 2011.  The application may also be emailed to melcat29@yahoo.com. 

 

DVD  Requirements:

Please send a DVD of the work you intend to perform. Works presented may not have more than 6 dancers because of theatre space requirements. Rehearsal material is acceptable.  The intended work may NOT exceed more than 15 minutes. Have all DVDs cued to the exact location of viewing.  If you would like your materials returned, please include a self-addressed envelope with the proper postage.  You may email links to melcat29@yahoo.com for any online material.
