XAOC Contemporary Ballet seeking dancers

 

XAOC Contemporary Ballet is seeking dancers for immediate hire.

Seeking women to understudy and perform for performances in April, May, and June, and for men and women to create and perform new work in the summer and fall.

Women must:
-be proficient on pointe
-have solid ballet technique
-be able to pick up choreography quickly
-be open-minded and hardworking

Men must:
-have solid ballet technique
-have solid partnering skills
-be able to lift a partner
-be able to pick up choreography quickly
-be open-minded and hardworking

Auditions will be heldSaturday, March 17th 11:30am-1pmin the Mark Morris Studios, in their Duffy Space located at3 Lafayette Avenue, Brooklyn, NY.

Please arrive 20 minutes early to register and warm-up. (auditionees will not be allowed to enter more than 30 minutes prior.) The audition will consist of a ballet class followed by repertory. Ladies, please bring pointe shoes.

XAOC will be holding same day call backs 3:00-6:00pm.

XAOC's upcoming performance dates are: March 28th, April 4th, and May 10th.Please specify in your confirmation email whether you are available on those dates, and for rehearsals on weeknights and weekend afternoons.

XAOC will also be looking for dancers to begin rehearsals in late spring and early summer for the creation and performance of new repertory.

XAOC generally rehearses 2-3 times per week, more frequently in the weeks directly preceding shows. As a small startup company, rehearsals are unpaid. There may be small stipends for shows, when funding is available. The company is currently in the process of gaining non-profit status and we hope to be able to compensate our dancers soon.
