360 Degrees Dance Company Audition and Workshop for Female and Male Dancers
360 Dance Company seeks one female dancer and one male dancer for paid company positions (paid rehearsal and performance), and one female apprentice with the possibility of future promotion to full company member. The initial rehearsal period will run from Sept 4 through October 17 with performances Oct 18-20, 2012 for 360's Fifth Anniversary Season at the Ailey Citigroup Theater.
Rehearsals for the Ailey season will be 4 days per week, 2-4 hours per day Sept 4 through Oct 14, with tech/dress Oct 15-17. Dancers MUST be available for ALL regular rehearsal times for the period of engagement. Further details will be released upon workshop/audition registration.
Interested dancers should have strong modern and ballet technique and should be mature, commanding performers. Experience in Graham, Limon or other classic modern dance techniques important. We are looking for versatile and creative artists with positive attitudes and an interest in performing both classic modern and contemporary dance works. Our goal is to find people who will be committed, long-term company members.
Auditions are by appointment only and will take place on Thursday July 12th with callbacks the same day. There is a pre-audition technique and repertory workshop on Wednesday July 11th from 2-4pm at Battery Dance (note: 12-2 session is already full). The workshop will feature an abbreviated class taught by Artistic Director Martin Lofsnes, followed by repertory work with members of the company. The cost of the workshop is $20 and will provide an extra opportunity for the company to get to know potential dancers. Pre-registration required. Space is limited so register early to guarantee a spot!
