Seeking Movers for Cage Hop show Mon 9/10/12, only 2 rehearsals needed

Hello,

I’m looking for more dancers to participate in Swarm, a structured improvisation inspired by the behavior of locusts and the music of John Cage to original music by Melinda Faylor, for the Cage Hop festival.

Our first rehearsal/audition is Saturday 9/1 11am-1pm. You don’t need to commit to the show until you have felt it out in that rehearsal.

The 2nd rehearsal is Monday 9/10 2-4pm and show is at 7pm on 9/10. Both rehearsals and the show are at the BIG Secret Theatre.

Please direct RSVPs and questions to vervetdance@gmail.com or just show up with curiosity and 2 pairs of pants and 2 shirts, preferably one set black and one set green!

This is not a paid opportunity. However, it will be a fun one! And, you'll get to network with interesting, experimental, and classical dancers and musicians from New York and Philadelphia, while moving like an insect and honoring the centennial of the birth of amazing American composer, John Cage!

Thanks for your interest,

Loren Groenendaal

Artistic Director of Vervet Dance

A dancer in a black tutu and leotard and pointe shoes stands on one leg, with the other leg extended behind the body in a straight line. One arm is raised above the head and the other extended to the back parallel to the extended leg. The school director is opposite the dancer and wears a red DTH logo t-shirt and black pants and ballet slippers. She holds the hand of the arm raised above the dancer’s head with one arm and her back arm is extended and she is smiling at the student.
