Wardrobe assistant for a site specific performance piece - Bronx, NY

 
Dancing in the Streets--a 28-year producer of free, adventurous & high quality public dance programs with community engagement, seeks wardrobe assistant for PASEO, a site specific community event and dance performance that will celebrate the cultural history and music of the South Bronx in the 1960's in coordination with the opening of the South Bronx Culture Trail.

Wardrobe assistant responsibilities:Wednesday Oct 3 (full day. may be divided into two half days if desired):Attend A.M. Costume Parade and followup meeting
Assist in planning costume management for a performance that includes costume changes by performers who will travel over 11 city blocks
Hang and tag costumes following meeting
Handle costume prep needs including repair, shopping, etc.


Friday Oct 5 (full day):Complete costume prep for dress rehearsal
Attend dress rehearsal (4:30pm-6:30pm)
Gather costumes following dress rehearsal
Launder and repair costumes as needed following dress rehearsal


Saturday Oct 6 (full day):AM: Steam / iron and prep costumes for performance
Ensure performance is preset as needed between 1pm and 3pm
Assist in costume management as needed during performance (3:30pm-6pm)
Gather and pack clothes following performance


Must hold Sunday, Oct 7 available as a rain date unless performance proceeds as planned on Oct 6.
Pay: $75 per day, for a total of $225
