Summary:

The Ellison Ballet – Professional Training Program seeks an exceptional master ballet teacher (male or female) specializing in the Vaganova method of classical ballet. Under the Artistic Director's supervision, Teacher will train students in classical technique, Pointe and/or pas de deux, variations, and prepare students for performances, yearly examination classes, auditions, and in some cases international competition. Successful applicant will adhere to our mission – to provide the very finest dance education to serious, talented ballet students, and offer every opportunity to explore and discover their greatest individual artistic potential in preparation for a professional career.

Founded in 2005, Ellison Ballet has become one of New York City's most respected institutions of classical ballet education. The school and its students have received numerous awards in such international ballet competitions as the Moscow IBC, TanzOlymp, Youth America Grand Prix, and the World Ballet Competition, and have been featured in Dance Magazine, Pointe, Dance Europe, and Dance Spirit. Ninety percent of EB-PTP graduates have received contracts in some of the top professional ballet companies in the U.S. and Europe.

Qualifications:

exceptional education, experience, and talent teaching the Vaganova Method of Classical Ballet

extensive knowledge of classical repertoire, among other styles

deep understanding of and passion for the art of classical dance

excellent communication and interpersonal skills with students and staff

qualified to teach Character Dance is a plus

Salary is negotiable.
