LEMON MERINGUE
New AEA showcase seeking actors/ dancers for November, 2013 16-show run at 99 seat NYC theatre. Lemon Meringue is a moving, one-act roller-coaster ride through the therapeutic process of Rich, "a typical guy from Long Island." As Rich struggles to overcome the devastating effects of childhood sexual abuse, we witness his anger and pain slowly giving way to joy and forgiveness. Dir: Terri Muuss, Choreo: Tracey Katof, music by Athena Reich. Please email headshot, resume, and role you wish to be seen for to TraceyKatof@gmail.com to be scheduled for audition slot.
Characters:
A Male and Female dancer: They play a myriad of characters from Rich’s past and present. Must be strong contemporary/modern dancers with a solid dance foundation.
No-Good Therapist: A conservative man in their 40’s or 50’s with a judgmental, pompous attitude. Appears to be rushed and/or to not be listening fully. Doubles as ensemble dancer. Must move/dance well
Gail: Rich’s therapist. A pretty woman in her 40-50’s, dressed conservatively. She possesses the typical nondescript personality of a traditional therapist but has a caring and sincere nature.
10 year-old-Rich: Small happy boy with dark hair. Preferably an older child actor who can play 10. Should move well and be able to express himself without speaking.
Grandma: A typical sweet older lady. (60's)
