Choreography for CounterPointe 2

 
CounterPointe 2 - women making work on pointe.

Norte Maar in collaboration with Brooklyn Ballet is now accepting submissions for the second annual performance series featuring emerging and established women choreographers making new work on pointe.

Investigating new and old territory CounterPointe highlights new work, opens up discussion, and creates a forum for women, young or old, emerging or established, to take risks. The series is dedicated to presenting the latest work that shows a depth of investment in ballet by women dance makers choreographing with the pointe shoe. The pointe shoe must be central to the choreography.

The venue has an obstructed marley floor over resilient wood. There will be minimal technical support. Stage Dimensions: 23 feet deep by 40 feet wide.

Deadline for applications: September 28
Tech: Tues or Wed, October 29, 30 (time to be announced)

Performances*: Fri, Sat, Nov 1, 2 at 7:30pm / Sun, Nov 3 at 4pm
*If selected, your work will appear in at least one of the performances.

Venue: The Actors Fund Arts Center,160 Schermerhorn Street, Brooklyn
