Call for Submission: Emerging Choreographers Showcase

 

Rider University/Westminster College of the Arts is pleased to announce the Emerging Choreographers Competition.  The competition is open to all emerging choreographers, aged 18 and above.  Thirty semi-finalists will be chosen to audition their a portion of their work in front of the panel on January 18th at Rider University.  Five choreographers will be selected to perform their works on May 3rd at the Bart Luedeke Theater at Rider.  There is a $500 honorarium for each of the five selected choreographers.  Additionally, one choreographer will be selected to set his/her piece on Rider dance majors the following academic year.  There will be an additional $500 stipend for the selected Rider choreographer.

Our chief adjudicator is Edward Villella.  Additional panelists include: Douglas Martin, Artistic Director, American Repertory Ballet, Dr. Kim Vaccaro, Chair, Dance Dept, Rider University, and Kerry Gallagher, American Dance Legacy Institute at Brown University.

Choreographers interested in participating should submit a six-minute video of a work set on a minimum of three dancers.
