NYC Ballet Child Performer Supervisor

 
New York City Ballet is seeking part-time, seasonal staff members to provide supervision for children performers in NYCB productions. Times of shows vary on weekdays andweekends.

Responsibilities include:
-Ensure that all performers are at the theater 45 minutes before the show and make necessary calls to alternates if they are not
-Bring children to and from the stage and oversee them while backstage
-Oversee the teenage helpers (older students from School of American Ballet) who help the performers with makeup and other necessary tasks to keep everything running smoothly
-Ensure proper respectful behavior of students toward each other, company performers, adults and the theater

Qualifications:

The NYCB Supervisors must be organized, possess excellent communication skills, and the ability to trouble shoot when necessary. Early Childhood Education or previous experience working with children ages 8-18 is strongly suggested.

Experience or interest in the performing arts, particularly ballet, as well as backstage experience is a plus.

Qualified candidates must be available as per the performance dates below:

Nutcracker: November 29-January 4
Coppelia: February 14-16, 22-23 (2014)
A Midsummer Night's Dream: June 3-8 (2014)
