ISPA Congress

 
ISPA is seeking individuals interested in volunteering for the organization’s 66th Annual Congress, Imagining a New Economy for the Arts, on January 14-16, 2014 in New York City. Twice a year, ISPA Congresses bring together performing arts leaders to discover the next great idea, strengthen relationships, and rejuvenate their passion for the arts. Learn more About Congresses: http://www.ispa.org/?congresses_about Eligibility Criteria Volunteers for Imagining a New Economy for the Arts must meet one of the following eligibility criteria: • be enrolled as either a full-time or part-time student at a post-secondary institution, as either a graduate or undergraduate studying arts administration or other applicable arts field; • currently working as an intern, either paid or volunteer, for a fixed term with an arts and culture organization; • not currently employed in the arts and culture sector, under the age of 30, and seeking employment in this sector, with previous experience and/or a post-secondary qualification in arts administration/art management/cultural studies; or • employed part-time in the arts and culture sector, under the age of 30. Individuals employed full-time by an arts and culture organization, or employed full-time or part-time at an ISPA member organization, are not eligible to apply for this volunteer position. Requirements In return for 15 hours of work prior to and/or during the Congress, your Congress fee will be waived. You will be registered for all day-time sessions and the closing cocktail reception at Celsius. Please note that your volunteer duties will preclude you from attending some sessions and events. The normal student price of this package is 300 USD (including a 50 USD Student Membership and a 250 USD Student Congress Registration fee.) Volunteer tasks will include, but not be limited to, working at the registration desk, working at our special events, running quick errands, and preparation, set-up, and break-down of the Congress. All volunteers are required to attend a Volunteer Orientation and Training Session, which is currently scheduled on Monday, January 13th, 2014, from 1:00pm to 2:30pm (subject to change).
