For Choreographers and Performers: Studio Residency

The Woods is a cooperative space run by a group of choreographers who work together.
At any given time, we have between 8-12 artists in residence, rehearsing between 12-50 hours per month. Our residency program lasts for 6-month periods.

Because resident artists act as the central organizers of the space, we call our residents members. Memberships are currently available at all levels. We do have monthly dues to help keep the space afloat, which start as low as $72 for 12 hours a month and go up to $216 for 48 hours a month. As a result, residents pay between $4.50 and $6 per hour of rehearsal, which is vastly cheaper than any other space in the city.

For those who are more project-focused, we also have opportunities that last 2 months.

Please contact us to take part in what we're up to. Our goal is to create a space that both allows artists to make work as cheaply as possible, and further, to help artists actually use the space in ways that sustain them economically (teaching classes, etc).

For more information email Wanda at the address below. Cheers!
