About the company..

I KADA Contemporary Dance Company was formed in September 2011 in New York City. The company name “KADA” stands for Korean American Dance Association. We are a contemporary dance company focusing on cultural exchange through the arts. While our focus is dance, we also fuse visual arts, music, painting and photography into our shows and festivals. We have held two company shows and two festivals since our beginning. Our annual festival is called “KoDaFe” which stands for Korean Dance Festival. Since the beginning, KoDaFe has grown and taken on sponsors such as Fractured Atlas (www.fracturedatlas.org) and Korean Cultural Service (www.koreanculture.org). The festival will be aired on television on MNN (Manhattan Neighborhood Network Culture channel) from September 10th - October 2014. All shows and festivals have a specific theme attached to the works. This is where the cultural exchange between artists, choreographers, and dancers are united. In 2014 we had our first international workshop held in Seoul, Korea. Having had artist from Asia, Europe, North America and South America, the exchange of culture and styles has been fulfilled our company’s vision. As we continue to grow we will continue to create dance works of extraordinary artistry that deliver positive messages and life enriching experiences for all.

-We may select dancers from the workshop for the company show in Dec.

-The first 15 dancers that sign up for the workshop can get a discount of $5 for the company show ticket.

 Class: Ballet, Contemporary Dance, Korean Traditional Dance and improvisation.
 Cost: $100

 -Audition-
 I KADA Contemporary Dance Company is having the company annual show on Dec 20th at East Harlem Theater. We are looking for 5-6 dancers (male and female dancers that are strong in ballet, contemporary, improvisation and any kind of technique) for the company show.
 

We will be holding the audition on Monday, Oct 13th at East Harlem Theater. We will have 2 time slots for the audition which is from 11am-1pm and 5-7pm. Dancers need to RSVP what time they will be taking the audition. We will send dancers confirmation email.

 *Rehearsal Schedule: Dancers must available tuesday and thursday evening for 2 hours from Nov 11th- Dec 20th.
 *Participants will be considered for future employment and consists of touring and performing with I KADA conremporary dance company.
