Intern Darial Sneed

Heidi Latsky Dance, a New York City-based modern dance company integrating dancers with and without disabilities, is seeking an unpaid intern to assist with our 2015-2016 season, which includes:

- March: Peak Performances at Montclair State University
        • Premiere of our show “TRIPTYCH,” which includes the premiere of our film (title tbd), commissioned by the Andrew W. Mellon Foundation
- June: American Dance Festival
        • HLD is performing June 21-23
- July: 25th Anniversary Celebration of the Americans with Disabilities Act
        • HLD is coordinating free, impromptu, public performances throughout all 5 boroughs of NYC, all month long
- October: Lincoln Center
        • Premiere of our work “On Display” at the Atrium at Lincoln Center 
- and more

 

Responsibilities: 
- a commitment of 8 hours per week minimum, beginning immediately and ideally ending in December 2015 (it’s flexible)
        • hours may increase around performances
- bookkeeping and scheduling
- attending and documenting (photo and film) some rehearsals
- assisting with social media promotion
- assisting with tech rehearsals (e.g. running music)

 

Qualifications:
- Interested in learning about both the disability and dance communities
- Organized, reliable, and responsible
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Google Docs, Google Sheets, Dropbox, and social media (Facebook, Twitter, Instagram)
- Strong communication and writing skills
