On the heels of a successful pilot year, Varone and his dancers will lead a Choreographic Mentorship designed for serious, emerging choreographers. The intensive will be divided into three distinct parts, over the course of several months.

A week-long intensive residency kicks off the program*, Varone will share ideas about craft, design and composition through finely-honed creative games and devices, in which reams of material are built quickly then carefully shaped and molded. Participants will create studies using dancers selected by Varone and the Company.  Company members will serve as guides and moderators through the week.

Over the following months, Varone and the Company will continue to mentor each participant as they independently create a new work on their own dancers. The full slate of those new dances will be presented in NYC in August 2015.

*This portion of the program will be hosted by Purchase College in their seven studios and black box theater.  Participants have the option to live on-site for an additional fee or commute (about 30 minutes) from NYC.
