About the artist:
Investigating movement with a sense of honesty and vulnerability, Katherine Maxwell is an independent contemporary moving artist who molds the body through a series of sensations and textures. Katherine works with internal triggers to conduct happenings throughout the system. The necessity to stay available in working with genuine impulse requires an intelligent body to fully encapsulate movement potential.  Katherine aims to maintain a clear sense of intention in order to instigate connectivity and awareness for the viewer. The observation and reflection of the human experience is an essential factor in developing a sincere voice. Laced into Katherine’s work is an intricate and refined fluidity looking to reshape the preconceptions of most movement today. Subtle electricity is exposed through her movement quality. Katherine is driven to expose the pockets of mankind's inner most workings. Katherine proposes the opportunity to the viewer to be transported to new environments, external and internal places that might not be considered without the proposition through art making.
