Saroyan Ballet Company will be holding auditions for mentally mature MALE ballet dancers in February 2016.  We are seeking both Principals and Apprentices.  Dancers MUST be United State Citizens OR have a Green Card or Work Permit.  Please read the following carefully before submitting the required material for audition consideration.  Thank you.

Principals are full members of the Company.  They are part of every production and receive monetary compensation.  Principals are cast in leading roles on a rotating mode, meaning leading roles are given to each Principal in a regularly recurring order so that all Principals may have the opportunity to perform in a leading role.  Principals also share the position of Soloist.

Apprentices are Company understudies for Principals.  Each Apprentice learns the choreography and role of an assigned Principal.  Apprentices may also perform short pieces intended to afford Principals the time needed for costume changes and/or rest periods.  Apprentices do not receive monetary compensation.  However, when audition opportunities are available for new Principals, Apprentices are considered and/or invited to join the Company as Principals before audition announcements are made to the general public.
 

Audition Requirements:

1.  Must have a strong ballet background.
2.  Must be willing and able to grow with SBC.
3.  Must be willing and able to commit to at least one season with SBC.
4.  Must be U.S. citizen OR hold a Green Card or work permit.
5.  Must be mentally MATURE.  Older, mature dancers are preferred (27 years old and above).  However, younger dancers will be considered depending on MATURITY.
6.  Must be willing and able to participate in promotional performances to let the world know we've arrived.
7.  Must be willing and able to travel to Manhattan for rehearsals/performances.
8.  There is no height limitation.

Company Information:

1.  Compensation per performance (Principals only). 
2.  Rehearsals are presently unpaid.
3.  Rehearsals are held in Manhattan.
4.  We are NOT presently prepared to assist with working visas for international dancers.  We apologize for this inconvenience.
5.  We do NOT presently offer housing for international dancers.

There is no audition fee, simply because we find that charging dancers to audition for us so that WE can have a dance company is superfluous.
