Choreographer wanted for Columbia University MFA Thesis Film

Seeking choreographer interested in exploring movement within the context of progressive metal for a short film. This opportunity will entail collaborating with the director, lead actor, and five dancers to create a three-minute sequence.

At its essence, the film will be a surreal portrait of a young metal musician.

There will be three or four rehearsals before production. The sequence will be shot within a music venue in New York City during the weekend of March 12-13, 2016.

The style of dance is quite open, but the work of Saburo Teshigawara is a reference.

If interested, contact us at grippingnothingfilm@gmail.com and please tell us about your dance and/or choreographic experience. If you have a CV and links to work that can be viewed, please send those as well.

Dancers are still being sought, so if able to introduce other talent to the project along with yourself, it would be a big plus. Dancers will also receive a small stipend.
