PERFORMANCES
Program I: Friday July 29 / 6pm
Program II: Saturday July 30 / 3pm
Programs I and II (order TBD): Sunday July 31 / 3pm & 4pm
Call is one hour before the performance. All performances are slated to be 1 hour or less.

Mandatory Tech Rehearsal: Thursday, July 28th during the day.

We are happy to announce that we are partnering with Socrates Sculpture Park for the 7th Annual Suite Summer Festival. This free festival draws audiences of over 200 people per performance from the local area of Long Island City, Queens, and from as far away as New Jersey, City Island, and Long Island. Typically a number of international tourists enjoy the performance as well. To apply, fill out the brief form below.

We are looking for dance companies and dance artists that are dedicated to creating high quality artistic work and are interested in connecting with community by creating and performing at the beautiful Socrates Sculpture Park this summer. You may create a new work specifically for the park OR retrofit an existing piece to be performed in the park.

This year the festival has special significance as Socrates Sculpture Park is celebrating its 30 anniversary. This is a SITE SPECIFIC festival, and artists that are selected to participate are expected to utilize the park’s environment or approved sculptures in the performance of their work.


BENEFITS
1 - The opportunity to serve your New York City community alongside like-minded dance artists.
2 - Full production and promotional support for the performance.
3- You can request up to 2 rehearsal visits from In-Sight Dance Company’s Artistic Director for feedback, input, and any assistance in staging your work in the space.
3 - Support beyond the festival. This includes:
* A one-on-one coaching session with artistic director, Leeanne M. G-Bowley. Ms G-Bowley teaches and coaches nonprofit leaders nationwide. Topics include board development, proposal writing, fundraising planning, fiscal sponsorship, career development, nonprofit leadership, Available upon request.
* Upon fulfillment of the letter of agreement, you may receive a letter of support from In-Sight Dance Company that can be used for funding and partnership proposals. Available upon request
* An invitation to a post-performance networking event with fellow artists.


REQUIREMENTS:
1 - Review this document and adhere to these guidelines throughout the rehearsal process and performances.
2- Commit to perform in the festival by June 1st by filling out the letter of agreement.
3 - Create or adapt a work that reflects the park and the art that is installed. This work should be between 3 to 7 minutes. Solos should be no more than 3 minutes. Socrates Sculpture Park requires that all performances and rehearsals are family friendly.
4 - Hold at least 1 rehearsal in the park between May and and July 24th. (No fee to rehearse in the park)
5 - Attend tech a mandatory tech rehearsal during the day on Thursday, July 28th.
6 - Perform in two assigned shows July 29th to July 30th.


***Remember: You will be performing in the park on natural terrain or cement or stone pathways. Please be sure to think of the safety of your dancers within these conditions. We cannot change the landscape of the park for your performance and there will be no performances on stage for the Suite Summer Festival.
The performance will take place during daylight, therefore will be no lighting. Amplified sound that fills the park will be provided for the tech rehearsal and performances.
Note there is no space for storage and no designated green room. Please plan accordingly. ***
