Megan Bascom & Dancers is seeking two talented, enthusiastic individuals for part-time internships this summer. Our ideal interns should be organizationally minded, social media savvy, quick learners with interest in movement and marketing. Additional skills in fundraising, research and grant writing, and web development are very welcome.

The job involves 5-10 hours a week. Schedule is somewhat flexible and mainly accomplished online. Interns, however, are requested to be available for weekly company meetings with Artistic Director and Lead Administrator Jessica Hale, and any important rehearsals, performances or administrative events. Laptop and ability to meet in various locations as well as work independently is imperative.

 

Requirements & Expectations: Administrative Assistant

- Well-organized, self starter, detail minded, outgoing, multi-tasker

- Assist with social media: Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, LinkedIn

- Utilize, organize, and navigate Google Drive, Dropbox, spreadsheets, Mail Chimp

- Learn how a mid-level dance company functions

- Previous knowledge of the company’s body of work

- Interest in working in a dynamic and collaborative work environment

 

Requirements & Expectations: Content/Development Writer

- Exceptional writing skills and experience with writing for dance

- Help with newsletters, database updates, donor relations, annual planning, grants, residency proposals, and application deadlines.

- Utilize, organize, and navigate Google Drive, Dropbox, spreadsheets, Mailchimp

- Editing footage a plus

- Previous knowledge of the company’s body of work

- Interest in working in a dynamic and collaborative work environment

 

Commitment: Internships will run approximately 3-4 months. Mid-June through September. *One or both of these positions has potential to grow into a paid job with MB&D.

 

Compensation: Interns are welcome to attend MB&D’s 3 Workshop/Open Play sessions in July and will each receive a Guest Pass for Megan’s classes at Gibney Dance Center in August.
