THE CREATORS COLLECTIVE seeks artists to participate in one or more of our Fall 2016 events. Information about each event is listed below. Deadlines differ for each event and range from September 7th - 30th. Artists are encouraged to apply for multiple events. CC x Art Slope
Performance date: Saturday, September 17th at 3pm
South Slope, Brooklyn

THE CREATORS COLLECTIVE is participating in the inaugural Art Slope Arts Festival by curating an afternoon of site-specific performance in front of one of four murals from Spanish art collective BoaMistura, created as part of their exhibition at Open Source Gallery.

We are seeking performance artists (dance, music, theater, spoken word, etc.) to perform a piece between 5-8 minutes long. We will have handheld speakers, but no other amplification. Acoustic performance is preferred.

To submit work, please send an email to submit@thecreatorscollective.org with your name, artistic discipline, and two work samples (specifying if either is the work you wish to perform). Note: Sunday, September 18th is the rain date, so you must also be available to perform that afternoon.

An Evening of Performance Inspired by iCollective
Performance date: Saturday, October 8th
Open Source Gallery, South Slope, Brooklyn

iCollective is an organic collaborative platform of artists, curators and scientists working in the intersection of arts, urban interventions and socially engaged projects. At Open Source Gallery this October, they will present a version of their Hypnotic Tour project that invites participants into a fictional city based on solidarity, knowledge exchange, sustainability and use value instead of price.

THE CREATORS COLLECTIVE is interested in presenting both new and previously developed works that fit the themes in this exhibition.

To submit work, please send an email to submit@thecreatorscollective.org with your name, artistic discipline, two work samples (specifying if either is the work you wish to perform) and how the work you are proposing relates to iCollective and the themes surrounding their exhibition. Note: Sunday, October 9th is the rain date, so you must also be available to perform that afternoon.

FUSE
Performance date: Sunday, October 23rd
Bushwick, Brooklyn

FUSE is a pop-up event featuring collaborations between filmmakers and choreographers, performed with visual artists creating live illustrations. Our first iteration of FUSE took place in July 2015 and featured 10 works and over 30 artists. In addition to dance and film, live music and spoken word were also included in some of the collaborations. Here are some of the collaborations we featured last summer:

1. Filmmaker and choreographer collaborate to create a new work
2. A choreographer creates a new work to an already completed film
3. A filmmaker creates a new work to an already completed dance piece
4. We layer two already completed works (both dance and film)

Ready Freddy’s?!
Performance date: Wednesday, November 9th
Freddy’s Bar and Backroom in South Slope, Brooklyn

Ready Freddy's?! is a recurring event that brings together live music, dance and video through improvisation, collaboration and performance. We are always looking for new (and returning!) artists to participate. 

Past collaborations and performances include: 

1. A dancer improvising to a live music set
2. A pre-developed collaboration between a choreographer and a composer
3. A musician performing an improvised score to a short film
4. All artists are encouraged to share their own work as well as participate in a collaboration or improvised set.
