VERVE Art Collective- ‘sKIN’

 

VERVE Art Collective (VAC)- is now taking submissions for its October showcase, 'sKIN'. A two-night event at the Center for Performance Research, Brooklyn, NY. We are looking for Visual artists of all mediums, i.e. Film/video, installation/fine art, set design, light sculpture, VJ, lighting designers, musicians, and choreographers.

VAC is an artist run collective, founded by SagaDance Company (SDC). VAC wishes to emphasize multidisciplinary collaboration between emerging art makers, primarily in movement and visual media. The title of the show is ‘sKIN’, which embodies the direction of the performance’s concept and inspiration. ‘Skin’ as both the physical vessel we inhabit and “kin” the relationship we have to one another.

 

Please submit the following to michelle@sagadancecompany.com by August 16, 2016 for consideration:

Three samples of previous or current work. (Samples may include footage, sketches, photos, prerecorded music etc. ) Any footage of work must be in vimeo/youtube links. No other form of footage will be accepted. Visual mediums or technical profeciency in: Film/Video, Adobe After Effects, Madmapper/VPT 7, Lighting, Scenic Design, Body Paint, Costume Design.


Written project proposal. In no more than 500 words, please propose your project and clearly explain how you envision dance (movement) to be incorporated. What does ‘sKIN’ mean to you?

 

All artist MUST be present for the following dates:

Tech Rehearsal: October 19th, 2016 6pm-9pm

Show: October 20th, 2016 6pm-9:30pm

Show: October 21st, 2016 6pm-9:30pm

 

VERVE Art Collective has waved all fees. No submission fee or production fee is required. We give you the space, PR exposure and a safe space to create work with other emerging New York artists. ARTIST MUST ENJOY COLLABORATING WITH OTHERS.
