Awaken Dance Theater is a NYC-based company that aims to make bold statements on social and political issues through dance.  We've created works about important issues such as climate change to racism and racial equality.

We are currently seeking male and female dancers to join our company immediately and through our 2017-2018 season. Dancers of all races and ethnicities encouraged to attend.

Dancers must be strong in classical ballet, as well as other genres.  Awaken Dance Theater also uses contemporary,  jazz, horton, and graham-based modern from time to time.  Dancers must also have a strong performance qualitiy and acting ability.

Awaken Dance Theater performs at numerous venues in and around NYC.  Modest stipend is given for select performance opportunities only.  Rehearsals are unpaid.  

** Dancers must be available for Sunday evening rehearsals. (approximately 6-10pm) and able to commit to a full year with the company. 

Audition will be held on SUNDAY, April 2nd, at 5:00pm at the City Center Studios (130 W 56th St.)  Dancers are strongly encouraged to pre-register by emailing their headshots, resume and dance reel (if available) to awakendancetheater@gmail.com to ensure a place at the audition.
