Periapsis Music and Dance seeks Marketing/Social Media Intern

group portrait Rachel Neville

Periapsis Music and Dance seeks a marketing and social media intern to support audience and network development around our growing activities.  This is a new position and will begin as an unpaid internship; by the beginning of next season (August) we expect to have a budget for a paid, part-time Marketing and Social Media Associate position.

Duties:

- write copy and prepare images for social media posts on Instagram, Facebook, and Twitter
- develop and implement marketing and social media strategies
- contribute to additional marketing and publicity materials such as newsletters, press releases, press kits, and website
- perform additional duties depending on skill set

Qualifications:

A successful candidate will be a team player with excellent written and oral communication skills, be intimately familiar with social media platforms and trends, be able to work within our existing branding while offering ways to evolve and expand, and have a passion for our mission of cultivating a new collaborative repertoire by choreographers and composers, with a keen understanding of our role in the New York arts scene.  Facility with graphic design, Adobe Creative Suite, Mailchimp, and Hootsuite a plus.

We are very cognizant of the challenges of accepting unpaid internships and would limit volunteering to 2-4 hours per week.  Once it becomes a paid position, it would expand somewhat in scope.  We do hope to retain an individual who is interested in staying with the position to that point and beyond.

To apply:

Please send cover letter and resume to info@periapsismusicanddance.org with the subject "social media intern."
