Mare Nostrum Elements is seeking dancers for the Emerging Choreographer Series 2018 presented in collaboraton with LaGuardia Performing Arts Center (CUNY).

ECS is an 8 week grant and developmental showcase program providing emerging choreographers with the tools and the means to create, develop and premiere a new choreographic work.

As a dancer for the Emerging Choreographer Series, you will:

> rehearse weekly with new and exciting choreographic voices

> participate in intimate studio showings and feedback processes

> develop deeper understanding of the dancer's role in the choreographic process

> perform in front of a panel of established choreographers and directors in a mid-term feedback session.

 

Audition Information:

DATE: Monday, November 13th, 2017

TIME: 12-5pm

LOCATION: The Main Stage at LaGuardia Performing Arts Center

DIRECTIONS: 7 train to 33rd/Rawson -  E,M,R trains to Queens Plaza - G train to 23rd Ely/Court Square

 

PRE-REGISTRATION REQUIRED:

1) Fill out the ECS 2018 Dancers Registration Form

2) Complete the ECS 2018 Schedule Survey for Dancers

3) Email your headshot and resume to ecs@mnelements.org

 

Rehearsals begin: January 3rd, 2018

Performance dates: February 26th and 27th, 2018

* Dancers are welcome to audition for multiple choreographers, casting will be finalized based on schedule compatibility.

 

Casting Details:

Hannah Button is seeking 2-3 male or female dancers with dance theater and contemporary dance background. Acting and/or dance theater background is preferred but not required.

Zoe Walders is seeking 5-6 male or female dancers with contemporary dance background, strong gestural work, movement specificity, and partnering skills.

Quilan Arnold is seeking 3-5 male or female dancers with dance backgrounds in House, hip-hop, funk-styles (b-boyin', tricking is a plus), and contemporary movement. Specific emphasis is placed on movers who are interested/have experience in character development (which may include speaking text, acting, etc.)

Christopher Núñez is seeking 1 male contemporary dancer, age 20-35, maximum height of 5'11.

Patrick O'Brien is seeking 2 male (or male identifying) dancers with strong background in contemporary dance techniques.

Nicoletta Serio is seeking 3 dancers (1 male, 2 female) with experience in contemporary release technique. Strong emphasis is placed on dancers who have classical technique base, emotional expressive skills, floorwork experience, and extreme flexibility.
