Open Performance Registration is Saturday November 18th at 10am!

Open Performance is a program of non-curated shared showings of experimentation and work-in-progress, for artists at all stages of their development. The events are centered around an audience discussion moderated by a Movement Research Artist-in-Residence or an occasional guest, where we will experiment with different feedback methods to support and inform the artists’ process.

TO REGISTER:

There is no application process, as this is a non-curated program, and we strive to accommodate as many artists as possible. You will select your top five choices from the list of dates, and we will do our best to accommodate you. Please give us as much availability information as possible. Also, please keep in mind that this is a studio venue, and is therefore low-tech.

Open Performance takes place on Tuesday evenings at 7pm, with a discussion following. Each choreographer is able to show up to 12 minutes of work-in-process. Admission is free and there are no reservations. A suggested donation of $3 or more is asked of those able to contribute. 

Requests are accepted via the online form only, and we will not accept submissions in advance of the registration call time, nor will we accept registration by phone or email. Once the season has been programmed, you will be informed by email whether or not you have received a place and on what date you are programmed. Once you receive this email, you MUST REPLY, either to confirm or withdraw from the program or alternate list. In the event of cancellation, you must give 2 weeks notice or risk being unable to apply for the following season. 

Also, those who have been programmed in a given season are required to sit out a registration period before applying again. For example, if you are showing work in the Fall 2017/Winter 2018 season you cannot apply for Spring 2018. This helps us achieve our goal of accommodating as many artists as possible.

Please note there is a minimum age requirement of 18 years for lead artists.
