New Yorkers for Culture & Arts seeks 10+ volunteers for The Future of NYC Culture and Arts: A conversation with New York City Council Speaker Candidates at SVA Theatre on November 28, 2017.

About the Forum: One of NY4CA’s immediate goals will be to sponsor a culture and arts Candidates Forum, focusing on the upcoming selection of a new City Council Speaker. The event will help to underscore the Speaker’s role in prioritizing and advancing legislation and public policy in our City.

With the title, “A conversation with Speaker candidates on the value and impact of NYC's Arts and Culture Sector,” the Forum will include discussion of the sector’s impact on the city’s economy and educational system, its value to community identity, livability, and development, and its importance to cutting-edge science and conservation efforts. Through this Forum, NY4CA will build on the past success of One Percent for Culture’s 2013 Mayoral Forum and the many candidate breakfasts by the NYC Arts Coalition during its 30 years as an arts advocacy organization.

Volunteers are needed between 5:00 and 9:00 p.m (shifts below). Anyone interested in volunteering should please contact Roberto Ragone at 917-923-4765 or Roberto.Ragone@gmail.com. -One volunteer to help distribute NY4CA marketing information to people who are on the "waiting list line" (proceeding before/after the people with the clipboards taking down contact information)

-One or two volunteers at the NY4CA table to answer questions, who will also help SVA prep the lobby
