Apply to Summer Immersion Project!

SIP Flyer Cacia LaCount

June 11-22, 2018

In the format of a two-week intensive residency, the Summer Immersion Project (SIP) is designed as a rigorous training experience for motivated dancers, ages 18 and older, within a professional contemporary dance company environment.

You will study, rehearse, and perform with co-artistic director Jessie Jeanne Stinnett and members of Boston Dance Theater. All participants will take daily class taught by current company members. Morning class is followed by repertory+rehearsal and studio showings. Participants will have the opportunity to learn repertory by Itzik Galili (Israel), Sidra Bell (NYC), Yin Yue (China/NYC), Marcus Schulkind (Boston), and Jessie Jeanne Stinnett (Boston).

Classes and rehearsals will prepare students to enter into BDT's creative process which includes improvisation, contemporary phrase work, and somatic practice. The program will conclude with a showing of company repertory performed by program participants which will be advertised and open to the public.

Upon completion of the program, 2018 SIP participants may be considered for 2019 BDT/JJ&D company positions.
