Company seeks dancers for residency & performance | May 13-20th

 
Moving Spirits residency at DANCE Silo Kirkland Farms Michael Shi

Moving Spirits, Inc. is seeking dancers for our UpStream Residency at Kaatsbaan International Dance Center occurring May 13th-20th in Tivoli, NY. The company seeks two dancers with experience in contemporary and African diaspora forms. The Artistic Director, Tamara Williams, has been commissioned to create a new work that incorporates movements of the African Diaspora (Cuban, Brazilian Trinidadian, and African American). The company will also revive and perform "Coming Home"-- a 20-minute excerpt from a larger work,  Morning Honeysuckle, Sunday's Greed for the Sunday, May 20th presentation.

Moving Spirits, Inc. will provide transportation to and from Tivoli, NY. for the week. Double occupancy accommodations will be provided by Kaatsbaan. The company will work 6-8 hours daily.

 

-For consideration, send 2-3 video links of yourself performing choreography. The videos may be from a performance, studio practice or rehearsals.

Selected dancers will be asked to learn a short section (from 10:25-11:15) and send a video link of the learned choreography

Candidates:

MUST be available for the entire period of May 13th-20th

Must also have experience in modern or contemporary dance techniques AND movements of the African Diaspora.
