Shadow Box Theatre is looking for new teachers for their pre-k dance program!

 

Shadowbox Theater accesses government grants and uses them to finance head start programs to teach dance and education through dance in Pre-K school programs. 

 

We started 4 years ago as a pilot project with 2 classes. This year we are teaching in 3 locations in the Bronx. Because of the success of our program, we need more dance teachers. Our Pre-K dance program is growing every year. 

 

We are starting a teacher training program based on the insights and experiences we have learned teaching young children, 3 to 5 years old, most from low income families.  Potential dance teachers will learn the curriculum we have developed. After completing the 4 session program, you will be qualified to apply to teach full time, part time or as a substitute in one of the new locations. The hours are daytime and pay is very generous. On June 10th we will have guest speakers Carol Prudhome Davis and Agnes Mills.
