Studio Manager - Fort Pilates

Fort Pilates is now seeking a full time Studio Manager to join our growing Fort Greene community of movers and creatives. This position will be responsible for the overall client experience, management of our front desk staff and first point of contact for our instructors. This is an administrative position for a candidate with a strong background in customer service and sales who can manage people respectfully and handle tasks effectively. Our neighborhood studio offers a warm and comfortable environment and we pride ourselves on the relationships we develop with our clients. Candidates with experience in wellness practices and/or hospitality are encouraged to apply.

 

Duties include:

Manage front desk team.
Independently make decisions to support and maintain a high level customer service for all clients.
Oversee daily cleanliness and organization of the studio.
Enforce Fort Pilates policies, protocol and procedures.
Coordinate with owners to ensure maintenance and repair of studio equipment, props and the general facility. Including responsibility for health and watering schedule of all plants and garden.
Order, receive and manage inventory of cleaning supplies, props, FP merch and retail items.
Merchandize the retail inventory to optimize sales.
Manage studio mail and deliveries.
Create sales goals and adjust processes and procedures as needed to meet goals
Act as a knowledge base for Mindbody, educating front desk staff of changes and improvements.
Create a maintain good relationships with all clients, neighbors and local business community.
Consistently look for areas to increase operational efficiency and optimize costs.
Report to front desk team on a weekly basis or as needed.
Greeting clients.
Serve as a liaison between the owners and Fort Pilates team.
Work with the web administrator on website changes or updates.
Manage and update the MBO schedule as well as communicate changes to staff and instructors.
Manage instructor schedule requests, call outs and coverage of all shifts, classes and private sessions.
Assist in interviewing and hiring of front desk staff.
Train and onboard all front desk staff.
Answer and return all phone calls, emails and messages.
Work with owners on maintaining studio aesthetic and “vibe”, including music (playlist creation), decor and possible improvements.
Assisting in social media management, email based newsletter drafting and client outreach.
Working with treatment room practitioners to cross promote services with clients.
Maintain a respectful, calm and friendly environment for all staff and clients.
Assist owners in capturing and creating in-studio photo and video content for social and web based use.
Working with owner to ensure front desk staff is educated and comfortable talking with clients about the theories and practices of Fort Pilates methods.
Setting sales practices and standards for front desk team.

 

Requirements:

2+ years of retail/hospitality based customer service, sales or fitness sales experience.
2-5 years fitness based front desk experience preferred.
Prior management experience preferred but not required.
Must be fluent in English and have excellent communication and strong interpersonal skills in studio, on the telephone and via email.
Ability to recognize areas of improvement and be proactive with solutions.
An affinity and passion for fitness.
Prior basic knowledge of the Pilates method.
Solid writing and grammar skills.
Highly organized, proficient in Mac OS, G Suite & Mindbody software.
Professional, punctual, reliable and neat.
Strong attention to detail.
Trustworthy and ability to handle confidential information.
Ability to work harmoniously with co-workers, clients and the general public.
Proficiency in Microsoft Word & Adobe Suite (spreadsheets and newsletters) preferred
Proficiency in creating graphics (i.e. social media)

This position offers a competitive base salary; based on experience
2 weeks vacation plus major holidays
5 sick days
