Founder/ Artistic Director and acclaimed Choregrapher /Dancer / Dance Therapist An Nuo is seeking dancers with classical ballet training or strong foundation in Modern or Contemporary Dance for a forthcoming performance in early January 2019. Ideal candidates will be conmfortable with learning a new Spiritual dance technique, which integrates principals of ballet, modern dance and dance therapy.

The performance in 2019, will present a collaboration of 11-12 dancers, alongside artwork, to construct the rich connections with dance and the visual arts, theater, fashion, and new representations of the body. Focusing on New York’s role in a transatlantic exchange of Eastern and Western cultures and the universal language of emotions. Dancers will develop a new work in collaboration with An Nuo, through rehearsal at Gibney Dance studios.

PRIORITY:
5 male dancers and 1-2 female dancer.
Strong ballet and modern dance background, or two or more years in a dance company.

SPECIAL REMARKS:
• Dancers must arrive 30 minutes prior to the audition for picking up numbers and warm up.

• Candidates must be comfortable learning new techniques of Spiritual Dance, Authentic
  movement and Zen practice, as well as participating in the experimental rehearsals

• Compensation: $14 per hour for rehearsal time completed / no compensation for up to 4.5hrs
  of “Nuo An Spiritual Dance” experimental dance technique training or ea. 30 min break.
  * Each dancers hours will vary depending on which of the repertoire pieces includes them.
• * Up to 10/hrs for rehearsal’s /up to 4.5hrs workshop training per week required in the unique
     experimental “Nuo An Spiritual Dance” technique (+30min break)

Rehearsal Start: Monday, October 1 (Mon, Tues and Thurs – thru December)
*Rehearsal days interrupted by weather or natiional holiday will be rescheduled at the earliest convenience.
