Casting “Politik,” an independent dance film that will explore the frustrations of the American people to find peace and unity amongst political chaos.

Seeking a diverse group of dancer/movers with strong acting ability to attend rehearsals and video filming in NYC area; dates are not yet solidified; must be comfortable working collaboratively/with an ensemble; looking especially for those in demographic groups that are often discriminated against (i.e. LGBTQ, gender non-binary, POC, etc).

To Audition, please send headshot/resume and a video using the following prompt to abetteridge23@gmail.com by Sept. 12th:

Create a short (30 seconds to 1 min) movement piece based on a news article/magazine/social media headline that you’ve seen in the last month that has risen some kind of feeling. Try to convey the essence of the headline and how it made you feel. You do not have to use music. You must incorporate the following rules at least once: Cover your eyes, run or walk forward or backward, a moment of stillness. Be sure to add a quick slate at the beginning or the end!

Rehearses and shoots in the next 6-10 weeks in the NYC area. If out of state, must be willing to travel. Scheduling will be considerate of casts conflicts as much as possible.
