Hawkinsdance is seeking new or existing contemporary dance works to be presented at the Pleiades Dance Concert in the Park on March 14, 2020 at the DeMeester Outdoor Performance Center in Reid Park, Tucson, AZ. Through curating this performance, we are interested in demonstrating diversity of form and subject matter and seek to provide a platform for those artists who have a clear vision. We are looking for work that is wild, unexpected, powerful, and thoughtful. Works may be technically challenging, conceptually innovative, challenging to current constructs or norms, or embody stylistic qualities that reflect the evolution of the art form. We do not have a set number of works we will be accepting but please consider that works over 15 minutes in length may be difficult to program.

Performance Date: March 14th, 2020

Deadline to Submit: January 25th, 2020

Selections Announced: February 1st, 2020

- There will be a social event on the evening of Friday March 13th, 2020 for all choreographers and performers. 

- Technical rehearsals will be in the afternoon the day of the performance. 

- Hawkinsdance will provide a $100 stipend for all choreographers who present work. a??

Requirements: 

- Artists must complete the submission form on our website here. 

- Choreographers and dancers must be available for the entire day of March 14th, 2020 as we will be holding tech rehearsals during the day, before the evening show. 

- If traveling to Tucson, artists are responsible for all accommodations and transportation, however, we will do our best to help facilitate your needs and find accommodations.
