World Dance Audition for Festival and New Work

The Dare to Dance Live Festival, curated by choreographer, Karole Armitage, celebrates the rich traditions of dance in the Tri-State area. It will feature contemporary dance from the ballet, modern, street and tap traditions with a special focus on folk and classical dances from Asia, Africa and the Americas.

How to participate: Sign up on evenbrite https://www.eventbrite.com/e/armitage-gone-dance-seeks-world-dance-performers-for-spring-2020-festival-tickets-91330270297 to audition your work on either Saturday, February 8 or 15. We’ll be in touch to assign you to a specific time for the requested date. Pre-registration is required by the Friday prior.

All interested artists must show a 5-15 minute dance with their own music at the audition.

The Theater at Mana Contemporary

888 Newark Avenue, Jersey City, NJ (PATH to Journal Square)

The shows are free and open to the general public.

The festival is the first step in creating a new, annual full-length Nutcracker that features dance from around the world. World dance participants from the Festival will be invited to join the new Nutcracker as it comes to life in performances in New York City.
