Cross Move Lab - No Time Zone - Improv Jam

Cross Move Lab

Dear everyone,

In the world that we currently live in, we are craving human connection beyond anything else. To all the movers and dancers out there who are trapped in isolation, unable to move your bodies in the studio, our heart goes out to you. We are all in this together. COVID-19 has spread all over the globe along with anxiety, fear and isolation. Along with the current political climate, and the toxicity of racism and violence, we need to stay connected more than ever. These are the things that keep us segregated, keep us divided; we mustn’t let hatred and fear dominate our society. To everyone social-distancing, thank you. To everyone out there protesting peacefully and conscientiously, we thank you.

In our efforts to connect with you we are bringing about a new virtual platform. Let’s start dancing again! It’s important to keep moving, and to keep moving forward for that matter. So how can we do this safely? Guanglei Hui and Cross Move Lab Present No Time Zone. No Time Zone is a weekly improv jam led by our Founder/Artistic Director Guanglei Hui. Everyone is invited! This will be a free, weekly, live, online dance-platform available on Zoom. You will have an opportunity to dance with Cross Move Lab’s company dancers – Yuriko Hiroura, Evelyn Ifiegbu, Jacqueline Calle Hernandez, Evita Zacharioglou, Melissa Martinez & Diane Auriol. There will be a different theme each week and once a month the session will be led by a guest artist. Guest artists will consist of top professionals within the dance field, dancers/choreographers from other leading dance companies, presenting from everywhere around the world. The improvisation jam will take place every Friday at 10AM (eastern time), starting this June, Friday the 19th. If you are interested in joining in, please register by emailing your first and last name, country you reside in, and dance company (if applicable) to Cross Move Lab at crossmovelab@gmail.com. Registration will be open each week Mon-Thur until 6PM (eastern time). You will have a chance to sign up each week.

What we hope to achieve is togetherness. During these difficult times of division, we need dance – the world’s universal language. Body and movement know no bounds; they are limitless. Guanglei’s dream is to see 100 people from around the world dancing together. We hope to see you soon.

Sincerely,

Cross Move Lab
