CO:VID 48 Hour Collaborative Video Experiment

CO:VID 48 Hour Collaborative Video Experiment

CO:VID 48-Hour Collaborative Video Experiment is a quarantine-inspired contest where Dancers and Film Editors compete as socially distant pairs for the grand prize of a live virtual show produced by Mike Esperanza (BARE Dance Company) and Marc Nuñez (Gotham Dance Theater).

Each pair must remain socially distant as they collaborate in their isolated environments to create a short dance film.

The Dancer must incorporate three visuals requirements: a common household object, a particular room, and a reveal/transformation.

The Film Editor must include three frame requirements. Frame requirements are movement based special effects (i.e. canon, slow motion, etc).

Each pair will receive their three visual and three frame requirements at the top of 48 hours. In addition, music must be original or pairs must have rights to their music. All participants must be 18 years of age or older.

Pairs will have 48 hours from Wednesday, August 26 through Thursday, August 27 to complete a short 2-3 minute dance film. The final film must be submitted by Friday, August 28 at 9am ET. The show will be streamed live that same evening.

No application fee. No participation fee.

CO:VID will be live* streamed free on Friday, August 28 at 9pm ET.
*Donations are not required but appreciated.

The winning pair will receive their own virtual evening length live show co-produced by Mike Esperanza and Marc Nuñez.
