Emergent Strategy: Shaping Change, Changing Worlds

The Laundromat Project invites all artists, activists, neighbors, designers, organizers, healers, storytellers, and cultural producers to join us as we explore new ways of being socially connected while physically distant in the 2021 Create Change Program.

The Create Change program will consist of virtual gatherings that bring participants together to engage the LP’s community-based art pedagogy and practices. Through the Fellowship and Residency programs, we will critically address art and culture making, community building, and power structures through a supportive and learning community.

The Fellowship program consists of intensive sessions over 6 months, divided into 3 learning blocks combining theory, practice, peer learning, collaboration, and co-creation. The residency program spans 12 months, and participants are required to take part in workshop sessions with the fellows. The core of our pedagogy centers public artworks that are collaborative, cooperative and co-created within community through an anti racist and a People of Color Centered lens.
