Nimbus Announces 2021 Acadia Dance Festival: July 26-30, Bar Harbor, Maine
Call For Dance Film Submissions - Deadline July 15

The Acadia Dance Festival brings world class performance, dance workshops, artist talks, and opportunities for community-building through dance to Mount Desert Island.

For its 2021 season, the Acadia Dance Festival will curate a series of dance films that represent the diverse ways that dance moves through our communities and our lives. This temporary shift away from live, in-theater performances will allow the festival to reach a broader audience and provide safe ways to engage with contemporary dance this season. Films will be shown at the 1932 Criterion Theater, Bar Harbor, ME, on Friday, July 30, and online.

Artists interested in submitting their dance films for the 2021 festival should complete the application link below. A $10.00 entry fee is required for each submission.

Films selected for the festival will be considered for three awards:

Downeast Award ($100): Selected by festival staff, given to the film that best represents or showcases the unique landscape or communities of Maine.

Audience Choice Award ($250): Voted on by festival audiences.

Critics Choice Award ($100): Selected by local arts journalists.
