Cornfield Dance seeking Individual Giving Consultant

 

Cornfield Dance is seeking a proactive, highly organized, detail-oriented freelance development consultant who will broaden and maintain the Cornfield Dance donor base. This is a freelance position to be managed and directed primarily by the consultant. A high level of professionalism, good instincts, confidentiality, positive energy, a can-do attitude, and excellent written, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills are required. 

Cornfield Dance is a small and active dance company under the artistic direction of Ellen Cornfield, a dance artist known for her work as an independent choreographer and for her years working as a dancer with the Merce Cunningham Company. Cornfield Dance has a 30-year legacy, presenting Ellen's work in 8 countries in addition to her extensive work around the United States. Qualifications 

- At least two years working in development and individual donor relations 
- Proven track record of donor recruitment and retention 
- Ability to work independently and self-manage communications, outreach, etc. to current and prospective donors  
- Knowledge and connections in the NYC dance community  
- Strong writing skills 

Duties include: 

- Research into possible donors  
- Outreach to potential and current donors  
- Frequent communication with Ellen Cornfield about current activities to share with donors  
- Drafting regular correspondence with donors and yearly donation appeal 
- Expanding on the Cornfield Dance donor recruitment/retention approach through creative, forward-thinking strategies such as fundraising events, crowd funding, raffles, etc.  

Salary: This is a freelance, hourly position to be determined with the successful candidate. Please include your proposed hourly fee in your application.
