Open Call for Grant: Mixtures. Artistic creation program (all fields)

 
Mixtures: Artistic creation program Consulate General of Spain

 

Mixtures is a collaborative program between Spanish and American artists based in NYC that work in different fields. The main goal is to create works that combine two artistic disciplines in order to generate new work dynamics and promote cultural exchange. 

The program is supported and organized by the Consulate General of Spain.

Program Details:
- 3 grants for Spanish artists & 3 grants for American artists
- Each grant will be funded with $1500 that will be paid at the end of the program.
- Each awarded artist will be paired with another artist. Each couple will work together to create a genuine work mixing two disciplines during 3 months.
- The work in progress will be documented by the Consulate General of Spain with photos, videos, interviews... that could be shared on its social media and web page.
- Mid-process a meeeting with all awarded artists will be organized in order to share and monitorize their progress.
- The final work will be presented during a public event in New York City. Details of the event will be determined once the program starts

Requirements for applicants

• Artists based in New York City during the program (February 1st - April 30 2022 & one day in May to be determined)
• Artists with considerable artistic career (at least 2 years)
• Spanish or American nationality

Accepted disciplines

• Music
• Choreography

• Visual Arts
• Theater
• Poetry

Dates

• Application deadline: January 1st 2022
• Announcement of awarded artists: January 25th 2022

• Creation process: February 1st- April 30th 2022
• Public presentation of the works: TBA

Selection

Selection of artists will be carried out by the team of the Cultural Office of the Consulate General of Spain in NYC taking into account the artistic carrer path, features of the works and posibilities of collaboration with other artists.
