AUDITION - Peridance Contemporary Dance Company

Peridance Contemporary Dance Company will conduct an open audition on Sunday, August 14th at Peridance Center. Dancers will be assigned a one-hour slot (9:00-10:00am, 10:15-11:15am, 11:30-12:30pm, and 12:45 - 1:45pm) with call-backs from 2:15pm to 3:30pm. Dancers are requested to have strong contemporary dance technique and improvisational skills, along with versatility, musicality, and stage presence. Experience with contemporary partnering is also a plus. Dancers must be based in NYC.

 

AUDITION DETAILS

To register, please complete the Google form here. Registration will close at midnight on Wednesday, August 10th. 

You will be notified by Thursday evening, August 11th, what time your audition slot will be on the 14th. Please bring a physical copy of your headshot and resume to the audition. Class beforehand will not be provided, so please be warmed and ready to learn repertoire at the start of your audition time. 

 

POSITION DETAILS

PCDC seeks to fulfill two Company Dancer contracts as well as additional Apprentice contracts. Both Company Dancer and Apprentice contracts will be from September 12, 2022 through December 31, 2022, with a strong possibility for rehire starting January 3, 2023 for the company’s 40th Anniversary Season and additional touring possibilities in 2023. Rehearsals will begin September 12th in preparation for winter performances at Peridance's KnJ Theater on December 9 - 18, 2022. Both Apprentices and Company Dancers rehearse approximately 10-20 hours/week. Company Dancers are paid $18/hour for rehearsals and receive a $50-100 stipend per performance depending on scale of the event. Apprentices are paid $25-50 for performances. Both Company Members and Apprentices have access to free space at Peridance when available as well as free daily ballet classes and other discounted classes. The Company is not a union company.
