CALL FOR SUBMISSION - Dance Bloc NYC 2022 Festival Application - Deadline JULY 31st

Call for Submission - Dance Bloc NYC 2022 at Dixon Place, NYC.

Dixon Place is located at 161A Chrystie Street, btwn Rivington and Delancey, New York, NY 10002. Dixon Place’s theater is a uniquely designed, flexible space with state-of-the-art technology. The bi-level structure accommodates seating for up to 130 people with a maximum occupancy of 150 people.  Floor space dimensions: 35? x 35?, Stage dimensions: 35? x 20? (dependent on seating arrangement) Floor-to-Grid height: 15.5?. The floor is sprung masonite. 

The Festival will be curated by Sangeeta Yesley, Creative Performances. 

Festival Dates are: NOVEMBER 3,4,5.
(If selected, your work will be included in a program in one of the 3 days)

Deadline to apply is SUNDAY, JULY 31st, MIDNIGHT.
You will receive a response by: AUGUST 15th.

The 2022 Festival will provide opportunities to choreographers from all genres of dance forms to showcase work around the following themes:

1. CONFRONT
2. COURAGE
3. CONQUER


Proposed works should be new or recently re-worked with primarily new choreography. If invited to participate, artists should plan to show the same piece as described in their application.

The length of work can be between 5 and 25 minutes long.

* Works involving 4 or more dancers presented at the Festival may vary in lengths between 15 minutes and 25 minutes.
* Solos can be between 5 and 10 minutes in duration. This means, if anyone is applying with a solo, the piece needs to be between 5 and 10 min. But, a 5 to 10 min piece can have multiple dancers as well.
* If a piece is between 10 and 15 min, it shouldn't be a solo but can be a duet, a trio or a bigger group.

Works outside of these time frames may not be considered.
