After presenting over 200 artists since it's inaugural 2018 season, the Bridge for Dance is excited to bring back it's flagship choreographers showcase - the Uptown Rising Performance Series!

Designed with the choreographer in mind, Uptown Rising provides choreographers the space and opportunity to premeire new ideas and revisit previous works in an intimate setting. Our shows are hosted in our large studio-turned-black box space. Additionally, each audience member is given the opportunity to write down feedback after each piece, which we send to the choreographers post-performance. We then close out the evening with a moderated Q&A with all the choreographers and a brief post-performance reception.

TECH - Friday, January 27 | Application Deadline: Sunday, December 11

 

SHOW 4 - Saturday, February 25 | 7:30 PM

TECH - Friday, February 24 | Application Deadline: Sunday, January 15

Participating Artists Will Receive:
- Space to premiere new ideas or works in progress
- Audience written feedback
- Post-performance Q&A w/ audience
- Discounted rehearsal space courtesy of the Bridge for Dance (from program acceptance - performance)
- Photos taken at tech and show ($30 package rate to be paid directly to photographer)

Audience will vote on their favorite piece of the evening, UR Audience Favorite will recieve:

- Free 2 hour workshop to be taught at Bridge for Dance (optional)

- 2 hrs of free space at Bridge for Dance studios

- Complimentry slot in the next Uptown Rising showcase (Spring/Summer/Fall 2023)
