Orange, blue, pink, and black background with white text

Boston WiP is a low stakes platform for dance and performing artists to present movement driven work. This first installment (of what we hope will be a bi-annual showcase) will be held in the Jackson Gym Dance Lab at Tufts University. We invite all forms of movement driven performance from artists at any stage of their professional career.

Show Date: May 13, 2023 at 7:00pm

Guidelines:
*Run time of the work should be a minimum of 2 minutes and a max of 10 minutes.
*Choreographers may not be enrolled in an undergraduate program. Undergrads performing in a work for a professional choreographer/company are welcome.
*The work should be new or recently re-imagined. We are intentionally holding space for unfinished/in-process work.
*Applications are due by March 17, 2023 at midnight!
*You will be notified about invitations to participate by March 25, 2023.

Offerings from Boston WiP:
*Provide performance space at Tufts University, 50 Talbot Ave, Medford, MA 02155.
*Provide 20 mins of tech and spacing rehearsal in the performance space.
*Each artist will receive lights up, down, and one additional cue.
*A space to warm-up before the show.
*Tickets to the performance are donation-based (suggested donation of $10) and all ticket sales will be split between the choreographers.
*After the show there will be open time to mingle and speak to the audience members/fellow artists about the performances.

Expectations if selected:
*We ask that you stay as close to your proposed length as possible.
*We will ask for one photo (JPEG or PNG) to include in our digital program and to use as promotional material for marketing purposes.
*The choreographer and a majority of the performers must be available to attend a 20 minute tech/spacing rehearsal between 9am and 4pm on May 13th. Call time for the show is 6:15pm.
*We hope you will help us promote this event to your community and invite your friends, loved ones, and fellow artists to the show.
